A hospitalist is a provider whose focus is on the medical care of patients who are hospitalized. They often help ensure the continuum of care from the moment a patient is admitted until the time the patient is discharged.
Our hospitalists provide high quality, efficient, comprehensive, and compassionate inpatient care to all patients at UofL Hospital, including those who are suffering from health and social inequities.
The goal of our hospitalists is to improve the health, quality of life, and well-being of our patients and community through patient-centered clinical care with a focus on excellent communication and collaboration with patients and their families, evidenced-based research, quality improvement, and community engagement. Our physicians and nurse practitioners use their unique knowledge, skills, and talents to provide compassionate and patient-centered care.
