Several UofL School of Medicine Departments are holding Grand Rounds this week.

Medicine

The Department of Medicine’s Grand Rounds will feature David M. Hiestand, M.D., Ph.D., assistant professor of medicine and associate program director for adult Cystic Fibrosis at UofL. Hiestand will present, “Sleep and Safety: Pilots, Drivers, Doctors” at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, in the Ambulatory Care Building auditorium. Neuroscience

The Neuroscience Combined Grand Rounds is pleased to present Peter T. Nelson, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor, Department of Pathology, Division of Neuropathology, University of Kentucky. He will present, “MicroRNAs in Neurodegenerative Disease” on Friday, Feb. 10, at 8 a.m. in Room 4003 of the K building. Also on Friday, Feb. 10, the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health will feature Peter S. Heyl, M.D., associate professor, who will discuss, “Hooray! I’m pregnant…so why am I Depressed? – Depression in Pregnancy.” The lecture will cover: the scope of depression in pregnancy and beyond; the dangers of untreated depression, and the dangers of pharmacologic treatment of pregnancy; and the management of clinically depressed pregnant women.
