Vice President of Operations

Wade Mitzel has accepted the position as the vice president of Operations for UofL Physicians. 

 “I look forward to the opportunity to carry out the UofL Physicians mission,” Wade said. “Patient-centered care is our core value and is central to our mission. Operations has a key stake in patient care. I am excited about helping our organization evolve and succeed, all while helping meet the growing health care needs of our patients.”

 According to Gerard Rabalais, M.D., acting CEO and chairman of the board, said Wade has been very effective in addressing some of the chronic operational issues in the Pediatrics Department.

 “I worked closely with Wade in his role as the executive director of Pediatrics Clinical Operations and have been impressed with his success and his passion for implementing operational improvements at UofL Physicians,” Dr. Rabalais said. “His leadership has resulted in significant improvements in the no-show rate, staff turnover and improved patient satisfaction scores.”

 Wade joined UofL Physicians in January 2015 as director of Practice Operations. He was promoted to executive director of Pediatrics Clinical Operations. He has almost 30 years of health care experience. He has a master's degree in management and strategic leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University. He received additional training as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt specializing in health care design and patient flow/experience.
