As senior vice president and chief human resources officer, John Elliott is a veteran of talent management with more than 25 years human resources experience. John is responsible for human resources administration for UofL Physicians, UofL Hospital, UofL Brown Cancer Center including talent management, human capital strategies, compensation and benefits, policy development, HR technology,  as well as training and organizational development. He also administers the organization’s corporate risk insurance policies, and the patient access initiative.

Prior to joining UofL Physicians, John was director of recruitment services, then interim vice president of human resources for Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon, N.H., a nationally recognized research and healthcare delivery system with a quaternary care referral network and 8500 employees. He previously worked at WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, N.C., a $1 billion, 7000-employee urban, Level 1 Trauma Center with 1000 operating beds. He held similar positions in Montgomery, Ala. with Baptist Health and in Asheville, N.C., where he started his own global recruitment consulting business. 

John has a bachelor’s degree in international business and finance from the State University of New York and an MBA from the Sorrell School of Business at Troy State University in Alabama. He has a diploma in advanced human resources management from UCLA.
